Introduction to Inclusiveness.

INCLUSIVENESS

-everyone carries something in their bodies and hearts

-trauma-informed yoga is human-informed yoga

-everything we do, we do to self-regulate

Trauma is something you nervous system cannot control. In video I list 3 form of trauma.

  1. Shock Trauma ( Car accident, Divorce, Sudden loss)

  2. Developmental Trauma ( child to car giver)

  3. Systemic ( race, gender, religion, sexual)

A resourceful yoga teacher is:

-GROUNDED

-ORIENTED

-CENTERED

-BREATHES

You job is to help people build enough resource in their bodies do that they can release stress response to trauma.

WHAT ALL YOGI’S WHO WALK iN YOUR CLASS NEED:

  • a safe place to connect with sensations

  • clear boundaries as a teacher

  • consent to touch

  • normalize the experience of being human

  • grounding, orient, centred, breathe ( aka a resourceful yoga teacher!)

  • cues to ‘invite’ ‘be curious’, so that no one gets overwhelmed by sensation
